Abstract

Bambara groundnut (Vigna subterranea) is one of the most promising food legumes in Africa, due to its agronomic and nutritional potential. To take advantage of these attributes, several research programmes gathering agronomic and genetic data are being implemented throughout Africa. Key words: Corn, quality, wastewater, yield.

Abstract

In recent decades, water deficit and environmental hazards of wastewater have promoted the development of wastewater reuse in irrigation of agricultural lands in many arid and semi-arid regions. An experiment was conducted out at the experimental farm of a leaven factory (Iran Mayeh Co.), where the effect of treated wastewater on grain yield and quality of corn (Zea mays) was evaluated during the growing season of 2012. Abstract

Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is one of the most important food resources. This plant is cultivated in a wide range in agricultural land of the world. To determine the effects of water deficiency in different final growth stages of two wheat cultivars (Chamran and Kavir) accompany with application of various elements such as potassium (K), Continue reading Effect of application of elements and variety on biological and grain yield and harvest index of wheat in Zahak region – JBES

Abstract

In Pakistan one of the main causes of the low production of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is lack of proper fertilizer management especially of mineral nutrients which plays crucial role in growth and yield of bean. Foliar feeding of mineral nutrients may be used as a supplement for obtaining higher yield. Experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of different nutrients application on common bean at experimental field, Department of Botany, Hazara University, Mansehra during 2012-13 in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replicates and four treatments i.e. control (H2O spray alone), poultry manure, DAP (Di-ammonium Phosphate) and foliar spray of (NPK 20:20:20). The results showed that foliar spray of NPK significantly increased number of pods plant-1, number of seeds pod-1, number of seeds plant-1, biomass and grain yield. It may be concluded that foliar spray of NPK is the suitable application for the maximum yield of common bean.
